Preparation
Extract the contents of the archive to a directory on your computer.
It is crucial to be cautious when altering the BIOS settings of your video card, as it may result in an unstable system. Thus, it is advisable to create a backup of the current configuration in case you need to revert to the original settings. To do this, we suggest using the GPU-Z program to save and backup the BIOS.
To backup your BIOS, click the button located near the “BIOS Version” field value and save the file. This file is the original one from the manufacturer and can be used to restore the graphics card if any issues occur.
Setting
PolarisBioseditor.exe installer file should be opened. You must click “OK” in the developer’s window that appears before the utility launches.
Click OPEN BIOS once the window has opened (open BIOS). Launch BIOS (which you saved in step 2 with GPU-Z or ATIFlash). The software will load your firmware and display the video card’s operational timings (window at the bottom right).
There is a button under this window “One Click Timing Patch”, When pressed, the program will automatically select new timings for your GPU. In the new window, click “OK”.
The program has already loaded optimized timings for most models of video cards, this button will apply them.
New timings for the video card have been installed.
IMPORTANT! To find out for sure if the updated configuration works, it is worth testing the system for a while. Remember and record the indicators of mining and system stability. If they do not differ from the previous ones (performance has not increased), try updating the timings again. If the system behaves unstable, try lowering the overclocking.
For advanced users, there are GPU and Memory fields where advanced settings (manual) are available. If knowledge and skills are not enough, then it is better not to touch these settings, otherwise you risk simply burning the system. These settings are responsible for powering the core and memory at different frequencies and their permissible temperatures.
Conservation
The Polaris Bios Editor (PBE) allows you to create and store multiple updated BIOS settings files for optimal performance. To get started, ensure that you have patched the system using the Atikmdag patcher to remove any driver restrictions. Then, use the ATIFlash/ATI WinFlash utility to flash the BIOS into the video card. For further overclocking adjustments, it is recommended to use tools such as Overdriven or MSI Afterburner.
